LION 800 CONSTRUCTION PART 2

July 1-2
Covering the yacht with fiberglass

For protection from moisture, the yacht’s hull is externally peeled off with two layers of fiberglass based on epoxy resin, for gluing glass fiber with a weight of about 300 g / m2
Before pasting the case, it must be wiped with an acetone-based solvent, this is necessary in order to degrease the case before gluing.
For gluing, the glass fabric is cut into pieces about 9 m long, after which it is laid dry on the yacht’s hull, then the fabric is impregnated with resin and rolled onto the yacht’s body with a roller or rubber squeegee, special attention should be to the absence of air bubbles and impregnated tissue sections.Adjacent sheets of fiberglass when laying on the hull of the yacht must overlap the early laid at a distance of about 100 millimeters
